The Ontario Royals Baseball Club are excited to announce our partnership agreement with Velo Baseball (
velobaseball.ca) starting in the Fall of 2022!
Velo Baseball is one of the leaders in baseball performance-training across North America. After many discussions with Velo Baseball Founder, Tyler Soucie it was clear that Velo Baseball was the right fit to step up the Royals player development programming.
"We pride ourselves on being a program who is constantly focused on providing the best player development opportunities to our athletes - whether that be a nutrition program, speed & agility training, mental performance training, etc.", Royals GM, Matt Mills said.
"After numerous discussions with Tyler and Graham at Velo, it became obvious that by creating a partnership between our programs, we would again be providing our players with the best possible player development opportunities that can have an immediate and ongoing impact on their performance and development".
Beginning in early September 2022, Ontario Royals 17u & 18u athletes will go through our baseline assessment and program on-boarding process. As part of this process, all athletes will receive individual throwing programs, drill prescriptions and arm care protocols. We will work in close coordination with Royals staff to ensure that all athletes receive the quality training and instruction that ensures success with these programs.
Additionally, all pitcher only (PO) athletes will receive a PULSE Throwing sensor that will accurately measure arm stress. Using the data reported from these sensors, Velo Baseball trainers will be able to provide accurate workload recommendations as these athletes navigate their programs throughout the offseason and in-season phases of the training calendar.
We are extremely excited to be partnering with the cutting-edge and passionate group at Velo Baseball, and we look forward to helping our players continue to chase their development and baseball goals in 2022-23!
